Great Car!

Im very happy with my 2017 GLI Manual. It feels solid, handles great, has plenty of power and is very refined. I love driving it and would make the same choice if I had it to do again. Fuel economy is better than expected. I cant speak to the reliability, but build quality is great! - 5.0

Closing in on 30,000 miles (with zero problems)

The car - per Fuelly dot com - has averaged 40.5 in mostly city driving. The average should be closer to 40.0, as I did take a 1700 mile round trip North. The car has a very easy shifting 5M - plus a clutch with real "feel" - - take-up point is not vague (as was my '05 Honda Accord 6M)...... The brakes are all disc now and they feel good, stop real well and - given my driving style - should last a long time. The trunk - just under 16 ft square - is big, the taillights ditto. Back seats too! I like the -new for 2017 - USB port. Holds all the CDs left over from my JSW TDI 6M VW buyback (I do miss the torque, space and long highway range of that wagon!!) In closing I'd be remiss not to mention the handling enabled by the combination of lite weight (under 3,000), really good suspension and extra wide stock tires. I can't tell you how many times - freeway curved on ramp entry - I've left the tail gators way behind. They just can't pull the g's my Jetta handles with ease. Note: I don't do this in the rain!
